Vincent Cheng was born in 1979 and his ancestry hails from the Chaozhou Swatow. He graduated with a degree in statistics from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. Vincent is married with three sons. Currently he is a vice chairperson for social enterprises and an elected District Councilor in the Sham Shui Po District Council (2007 to today). As a public servant Vincent became a member of the Election Committee, a member of the Appeal Tribunal Panel (Buildings) and responsible for the Public Relations and Promotion Subcommittee member of the Lantau Development Advisory Committee. Vincent Cheng joined the DAB in 2006 and became part of the Central and Standing committees of the DAB. He has served as the chairperson of the Family Affairs committee and the chairperson of the Ethnic Minorities committee as well, and this year he also became a Deputy Secretary General of the DAB.
